Transform the Lives of Dogs and the People Who Love Them

new item

I am excited to share with you my new Karen Pryor Academy Course:
"Click to Calm for Instructors": Solutions for Dog Reativity & Aggression.

I have thought about doing this for years. I can't believe it's finally here!!!!

This course is designed to help dog trainers and owners alike develop a clear understanding of how an animal learns, cultivate better engagement and communication with their pet, and teach calming and obedience skills that are essential for successful dog training. Not only will you learn the fundamentals of canine behavior, but you will also gain practical skills that can be used in everyday life.

Please visit the Course Website, and join our community of like minded Click to Calm practitioners.

PRIVATE CONSULTATIONS

Private consultations are done by appointment only.

The initial visit is approximately 1.5 to 2 hours in length and involves obtaining the behavioral history of the dog as well as introducing the student to the clicker training methodology. Effective home management principles are put into place immediately to help lessen, and hopefully, end the rehearsal of the inappropriate behavior. A behavioral program will be written up after the first consult and will be e-mailed to the client within 24 to 48 hours.

  • Initial Consultation is $295 for 2 hours.
  • Subsequent visits are $125 per 90 min session.
  • If you live more than a 30 min drive from Mendon, Ma there is a $25 travel fee
  • Please note I do not currently serve clients in the Boston/Canbridge area, but will be happy to give you referrals
  • Appointments are made on a first-come, first-serve basis

For those outside the New England area:.

  • Remote Consults are $250 for 2 hours.
  • via Skype, Zoom, Google Hangout, or phone.

Please note that in all cases of severe separation anxiety and obsessive/compulsive behavior will be required to see a Veterinary Behaviorist first (Local Example: Tufts in Grafton). Otherwise this will be determined after the first visit.

Please note that SureFire Dogs in Westborough has closed and is no longer an option as a consultation meeting place.

Seminar and workshops are taught on the topics listed below:

Click to Calm: Healing the Reactive/Aggressive Dog -

including dog-to-dog and dog-to-people aggression/reactivity.

One or two day program

Introduction to Clicker Training

One day program

How To Teach A Reactive Dog Class

One or two day program

Reliability for Reactive Dogs

One or two day program

My presentations are a combination of Powerpoint slides, video, and actual demonstrations. The most challenging dogs are used (4-5) so that the students can learn to see the subtle improvements in behavior. This also gives the attending owners hope that they can move forward with a successful treatment plan.

The sponsor also provides round trip airfare out of Boston, MA to the destination and the cost of the hotel stay. I fly in the day before the seminar and fly out the day after. The sponsor also provides the food as well.
